Step 1: Choose your preferred weight measurement.
You can change the unit indication by using the switch on the back of the scale: left = pounds, middle = kilograms and right = stone and pounds.

Step 2: Program in your personal information.
- Press the Set button.
- Press the Up/Down buttons to select a Personal Key. Once you reach the Personal Key number you wish to use, press the Set button.
- Set age (starts at 30). Use the Up/Down button to get to your age, then press Set.
- Select Female or Male. Use the Up/Down button. If you are an athlete (resting heart beat under 60 beats per minute), make sure the running man icon is also showing. Then press set.
- Select your height using the Up/Down buttons and then press set. The unit will beep twice and the display will flash all data 3 times before automatically turning off.
Select your Personal Key and step on (release the key within 3 seconds otherwise the display will show “Error”).
Step 3: Take your Body Composition reading.
- Select your Personal Key and step on (release the key within 3 seconds otherwise the display will show "Error").
- The unit will beep and show your programmed data (personal information).
- The unit will beep again and then show “0.0”. Now step onto the platform.
- Your weight will be shown first. Continue to stand on the platform.
- “00000” will appear on the display and disappear one by one from left to right. Your Body Fat Percentage (BF%) will appear on the display screen. Do not step off until BF% is shown.
- Once the BF% is shown, carefully step off the scales and press the special feature buttons. Write down your reading for each special feature and then analyse the readings to see if you appeared in the healthy ranges for each. Refer to the enclosed Progress Chart to evaluate your readings.
An “Instruction Manual” and “Guide Booklet” containing additional information is included in the packaging of all Tanita InnerScan models.
